Toby joined TenBerke in 2021, coming from Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Known for his technical finesse and approach to detailing that could be described as “tactility meets common sense”, he draws inspiration from surprising sources: “I love kitchens, in particular Julia Child’s kitchen. The absurd utility, and disorder some might call chaos, feels very honest to me.”
Toby has notable experience delivering complex projects of a wide range of program types and scales, working in offices in San Francisco, Genoa, and New York. He is an Associate at TenBerke and currently the project architect for the Yale University Physical Sciences and Engineering Building. Toby received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design.
